’Twas The Night Before Hibernation – RSM Holiday Stage Show Opens Tomorrow

Released on December 27, 2019

The Royal Saskatchewan Museum (RSM) is excited to announce a new holiday stage show, ’Twas the Night Before Hibernation.  The show opens Saturday, December 28, and all are invited to join in the fun!

“The holidays are a great time to visit the RSM,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Gene Makowsky said.  “Enjoy the stage show with family and friends, stop by the Museum Shop and visit Scotty, the world’s largest T.rex in the awe-inspiring CN T.rex Gallery.”

’Twas the Night Before Hibernation provides children and parents with a fun and relaxing activity over the holiday break.  The show will have a special twist as families become part of the action in a re-telling of the classic Christmas poem.  Volunteers from the audience will play the roles of Saskatchewan animals and learn about the amazing story of surviving winter.  Tini the T.rex will make a special appearance and show how dinosaurs lived in the winter.

The show runs December 28, 29 and 30 and January 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the RSM Auditorium at 2 p.m., and is approximately 25 minutes long.

The Museum Shop offers an amazing array of items to make your gift-shopping a breeze.  Located in the lobby of the RSM, it offers unique merchandise including souvenirs, contemporary and traditional arts made by Indigenous and other Saskatchewan artists, and a children's corner dedicated to fun and exploration.

The RSM, located at 2445 Albert Street, is open daily from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Adjusted holiday hours include December 31 (9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and January 1 (12 p.m. to 5 p.m.).  The RSM will be closed January 6-10, 2020 for cleaning and maintenance.
