Contact TIPP to report potential fishing, wildlife and environmental resource violations.

  • Anyone is eligible to report.
  • All calls and submissions are kept confidential; you do not have to give your name.
  • Tips that lead to a conviction may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

1. What Should Be Reported to TIPP

The public is encouraged to report any suspicious or suspected activity, including:

  • fish or wildlife trafficking;
  • fish being caught in closed spawning areas, with illegal nets, fish traps or snares;
  • wasted game;
  • burning of copper wire;
  • unauthorized removal of aquatic plants or beach construction that may destroy fisheries habitat;
  • hunting in closed areas;
  • fish being sold by commercial fishermen without valid licences;
  • dumping toxic materials on either land or water;
  • hunting at night with lights;
  • illegal outfitting;
  • unsafe hunting or fishing practices; and
  • dumping of tires.

If possible, provide the following information:

  • licence plate of the suspect’s vehicle/boat;
  • date, time and location of the potential offence;
  • whether the offence is ongoing;
  • description of the violation;
  • description of the violators;
  • vehicle/boat description; and
  • photos or videos of the offence or potential offender(s).

All TIPP reports are reviewed by a conservation officer. If a report requires action, officers will follow up in a timely and appropriate manner.
