Highway Safety

With more than 26,000 km of provincial highways in Saskatchewan, it's important that drivers stay safe when travelling. Throughout the year, crews work hard to ensure the highway is safe and passable.

In the summer months, road construction can create frustrating travel delays. Unfortunately, most of the highway work can only be done during spring and summer where there are periods of good weather. Flag persons work to make sure everyone gets through a work zone safely. If you're on the highway and you see a work zone, please slow down.

In the winter, snow and ice on the road can create adverse driving conditions. Snow plow and grader operators work diligently to clear snow so that everyone can get to their destination safely. If you're behind a snow plow or grader, give them their space. Please respect the people working on our highways.
