A compost facility allows oxygen-rich conditions to decompose organic matter. Once the organic matter is broken down, the result is a rich, dark soil conditioner that:
- results from the biological decomposition and stabilization of organic materials under warm, oxygen-rich conditions;
- is beneficial to plant growth; and
- is sanitized to a degree that protects human health.
