The Ministry of Advanced Education sought input from stakeholders and the public on a request from Saskatchewan Polytechnic for authorization of two new degrees. Stakeholder and public input informed the ministry's analysis of the application.

The application was made pursuant to section 7 of The Degree Authorization Act. There are two parts to the application: an application form and a program proposal. The application form provides information regarding Saskatchewan Polytechnic and identifies where particular topics are addressed within the program proposal. The program proposal provides detailed information that will enable the ministry to assess whether the proposed degree program meets five criteria as prescribed in Section 8 of The Degree Authorization Regulations. As part of its assessment, the ministry considered whether the proposed degree programs complement or duplicate other degree programs already offered in Saskatchewan.
