In 2021, the government turned its attention to reviewing The Radiation Health and Safety Regulations, 2005. The purpose of the review was to help modernize those provisions where technological advancements have resulted in the existing regulations being redundant or ineffective, and to identify regulatory requirements that place an unnecessary burden on employers, owners and workers, or create needless red tape.
Both federal and provincial legislation regulate radiation emitting equipment.
