The Ministry of Highways has completed a study of Highways 1 and 56 in Indian Head.

The purpose was to determine the configuration of a future interchange at Highways 1 and 56 and the alignment of Highway 56.

A number of options were presented through public engagement.

Based on feedback, the preferred option is a diamond interchange at the existing location with Highway 1 going up and over Highway 56.

The study has helped identify land to be preserved for future construction. Any issues of concern will be addressed in detail during the next phase of design.

No decision has been made about when construction might happen.
