The Ministry of Advanced Education sought input from stakeholders and the public on a request from Briercrest College and Seminary for authorization of a new degree: Bachelor of Arts in Applied Linguistics: TESOL. Stakeholder and public input informed the ministry's analysis of the application.

The application was made pursuant to section 7 of The Degree Authorization Act. There are two parts to the application: an application form and a program proposal. The application form provides information regarding Briercrest and identifies where particular topics are addressed within the program proposal. The program proposal provides detailed information that will enable the ministry to assess whether the proposed degree program meets five criteria as prescribed in section 8 of The Degree Authorization Regulations. As part of its assessment, the ministry considered whether the proposed degree program complement or duplicates other degree programs already offered in Saskatchewan.
The public consultation period ended on Monday, June 20, 2022.
