Death at Saskatoon Correctional Centre

Released on March 26, 2025

A 29-year-old male inmate was found unresponsive in a unit at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre at approximately 11:28 a.m. on March 18, 2025. 

Corrections staff initiated life saving measures and called EMS. EMS transported the inmate to hospital via ambulance. The male passed away in hospital on March 23, 2025 at 11:51 a.m.

The Saskatoon Police Service and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service have been notified and are investigating. The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety will also be conducting an internal investigation. 

Next of kin have been notified and no foul play is suspected.
