Celebrate the Holiday Season at Government House's Old Fashioned Victorian Christmas

Experience the charm of a Victorian-era Christmas at Government House on Friday, November 29, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This annual free, family-friendly event celebrates holiday traditions with a blend of festive activities, music, and history, offering something for everyone.

"Government House is all dressed up in its finest holiday apparel to welcome visitors," Minister Responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Eric Schmalz said. "Each year, this beloved event draws over 1,500 visitors to Government House to discover our province's heritage and enjoy timeless Christmas traditions."

The Government House building is decorated with lights for the Christmas Season.

Event highlights include:

  • Outdoor delights:
    • Take a nostalgic horse-drawn wagon ride through the neighbourhood.
    • Sip hot cocoa and enjoy cookies.
    • Meet Santa Claus.
  • Indoor activities:
    • Listen to the Regina Symphony Orchestra chamber musicians.
    • Join the Wascana Voices choral ensemble for carolling.
    • Participate in a scavenger hunt through the museum.
    • Hear captivating holiday stories from Mrs. Claus.

The event reflects the holiday traditions of the Victorian era while creating a festive atmosphere for families to enjoy at the National Historic Site and Provincial Heritage Property.
