A 36 year-old sentenced male inmate was declared deceased on Tuesday, April 16, at the Regina Correctional Centre (RCC).
The inmate was found unresponsive on a living unit at RCC at approximately 9:20 a.m. Corrections staff initiated life saving measures and called EMS. EMS attended and he was declared deceased at approximately 10:00 a.m.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service have been notified and are investigating. The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety will also be conducting an internal investigation.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
