Halloween Family-Friendly Frights Await At Government House And Wascana Centre

The Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) invites guests of all ages to get into the spooky spirit by participating in an upcoming family-friendly Halloween adventure at Government House and Wascana Centre.

“The PCC‘s fun-filled family events are stuffed with exciting interactive and educational programming that encompasses the Halloween Spirit,” Minister Responsible for the PCC Don McMorris said. "These events will be hauntingly fun and will enchant families to learn more about Wascana Centre's ecosystem and the historical past of Government House.”

PCC Halloween activities include:

Government House

  • Victorian Supernatural Theatrical Séance Performances for those aged 12 and older on Tuesday, October 25, Thursday, October, 27 at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Pre-registration is required by visiting governmenthousesk.ca.
  • Bump in the Afternoon allows all ages to trick or treat in Government House rooms and hear about the many characters that "haunt" this old mansion at the same time on Sunday, October 30 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. No registration required.

Wascana Centre

  • Spooktacular on October 29 from noon to 3 p.m. inside Wascana Place featuring animal dissections, crafts, live reptiles and Halloween games. No registration is required.
  • Walter Scott Way, the street along Wascana Lake and the QEII Gardens, will be turned into Pumpkin Way on Tuesday, November 1, thanks to the help of the public. Drop off your pumpkins between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Return between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to see the pumpkins lit up and on display for the last time this Halloween season.
