Death At Regina Correctional Centre

Released on October 12, 2022

A 46-year-old male inmate on remand was declared deceased this morning at the Regina Correctional Centre.

The inmate became unresponsive after an altercation with another inmate. Corrections staff initiated life-saving measures and called EMS. EMS declared the inmate deceased at approximately 8:50 am.

The RCMP and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating. The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety will also be conducting an internal investigation. 

Next of kin have been notified.
