CBO Worker Appreciation Day Proclaimed

Released on November 7, 2022

The Government of Saskatchewan recognized the valuable contributions of Community Based Organization (CBO) workers by proclaiming November 6, 2022 as CBO Worker Appreciation Day.

"Every day, the caring and committed employees who work at CBOs across our province make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in their communities," Social Services Minister Gene Makowsky said. "By recognizing CBO Worker Appreciation Day, we celebrate their impact, commitment and tireless dedication to serving Saskatchewan people and families."

The Government of Saskatchewan funds and works in partnership with hundreds of CBOs every year. In 2021-22, government provided over $670 million in funding to community-based service providers. It represents a significant contribution to Saskatchewan's economy and local communities, which is growth that works for everyone.

"CBOs are an integral part of the province's service support system," Makowsky said. "By proclaiming CBO Worker Appreciation Day, we raise awareness about the critical role of CBOs and their staff across the province, and to thank them for their very important work."
