Death At Saskatoon Correctional Centre

Released on November 2, 2020

A 28-year-old male inmate on remand was declared deceased this morning at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre at approximately 1:10 am.

The inmate was found unresponsive in his cell.  The Saskatoon Police Service and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service have been notified and are investigating.

The Ministry of Corrections and Policing will also be conducting an internal investigation.

This death is not related to COVID-19 and foul play is not suspected at this time.

Next of kin have been notified.
