The Government of Saskatchewan, in partnership with Saskatchewan Abilities Council Inc. (SaskAbilities), will continue providing employment services to people with disabilities in Swift Current.
The Ministry of Immigration and Career Training is investing $236,290 for the Partners in Employment contract in Swift Current, which is administered by SaskAbilities. Partners in Employment provides specialized career and employment services to people with disabilities transitioning into sustainable employment. The services provided to participants include: identifying and developing skills, job readiness, resume and interview development, job search and maintenance and sustained career growth.
“SaskAbilities and Partners in Employment have a long and distinguished track record of supporting people with disabilities in Swift Current and area, and our government is proud to continue to invest in this partnership,” Swift Current MLA Everett Hindley said on behalf of Immigration and Career Training Minister Jeremy Harrison.
“As we continue to cultivate and nurture relationships throughout our community, programs like Partners in Employment grow and so many of our clients see success,” SaskAbilties Regional Director Swift Current Branch Kimi Duzan said. “We are grateful for the funding that allows such valuable programs to remain in this area.”
This program not only provides support to people with disabilities, but also helps employers have a greater awareness of the value of employing underrepresented populations. Partners in Employment identifies and provides suitable candidates for employers, and offers training and on-going support to the employer to ensure employment retention.
