Today, Agriculture Minister David Marit announced a new five-year funding agreement that will provide Canada’s Farm Progress Show with $125,000 in sponsorship from 2019-23.
“The Farm Progress Show is a gathering place for producers, manufacturers and international buyers to develop key business relationships,” Marit said. “We’re proud to sponsor a show that drives innovation and profiles our province as a sound trading partner.”
The Ministry of Agriculture is a long-time supporter of Canada’s Farm Progress Show. The new agreement maintains funding for Canada’s Farm Progress Show with $25,000 annually, starting with this year’s show. This continues the support provided from 2014-18.
“Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) would like to thank the Government of Saskatchewan for their commitment to Canada’s Farm Progress Show and to ensuring that Saskatchewan remains a global leader in agriculture innovation, networking, trade, and food security and sustainability,” REAL President and CEO Tim Reid said. “REAL has been supporting agriculture in Saskatchewan since 1884 and with this funding, we are confident we will continue long into the future.”
Canada’s Farm Progress Show brings more than 40,000 producers, manufacturers, buyers and industry experts together for a global summit of innovation in dryland farming, technology, business, and modern living.
Through the International Business Centre, the show directly connects trade delegations with exporters in one marketplace to facilitate networking, relationship development and cross-sector learning.
