For the eighth year, members of the University of Saskatchewan’s student club Women in the Legislature will be meeting with politicians and government leaders.
The annual event takes place Tuesday, April 9 and gives undergraduate students the opportunity to see first-hand how Saskatchewan women are contributing to the province’s political landscape. The opportunity for students and aspiring leaders to connect with the province’s politicians and government leaders is very valuable.
“It is always a pleasure to host Saskatchewan’s future leaders at our Legislative Building,” Advanced Education Minister Tina Beaudry-Mellor said. “Alumni of this program have gone into roles in politics and governance, and we look forward to showing these students the work we do here every day on behalf of our citizens.”
Student participants are selected through an application process, and travel to Regina to take part. This year, 30 students are participating. The day-long event begins with a presentation from the Status of Women, includes two panel sessions, and a tour of the Legislative Building.
