Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) Jeremy Harrison is pleased to announce that Mike Crabtree has assumed responsibility as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Saskatchewan Research Council on April 1, 2019. He replaces Dr. Laurier Schramm, who stepped down from the position at the end of March.
Dr. Laurier Schramm served as SRC’s President and CEO since September 2001. During his tenure, Dr. Schramm led SRC to become one of Canada’s premier innovation-enabling organizations with strong revenue growth and a solid track-record of more than $8 billion worth of demonstrable economic impacts in Saskatchewan alone. He has also been a strong voice in encouraging a culture of safety amongst employees and conducting business in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. Dr. Schramm will continue to advance SRC’s mission and vision in the role of Chief Scientist.
“On behalf of the SRC Board of Directors, I’d like to thank Laurier for his years of service as he helped lead SRC through some very difficult times and helped grow and evolve the organization to what it has become today,” SRC Board of Directors Chair Dennis Fitzpatrick said. “We are confident that Mike will take on his new role with SRC with great dedication and help lead SRC in its next evolution and strategy.”
