The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $700,000 in cost-shared grants to 12 community airports across the province for repairs and upgrades through the Community Airport Partnership (CAP) program.
Grants are cost-shared up to a maximum amount of $275,000. CAP is designed to help offset the capital costs of rehabilitation and infrastructure improvements.
“A mile of highway gets you a mile down the road; a mile of runway gets you the world,” Saskatchewan Aviation Council President Janet Keim said. “I applaud the smaller communities in realizing the potential and value of their airports in both economic growth as well as the social benefits for their region.”
