Waldheim Day Program Renovations Complete

Today, Biggar MLA Randy Weekes on behalf of Social Services Minister Paul Merriman, joined community members, dignitaries and staff from Christian Horizons to celebrate the finished renovations at the Horizon Centre day program in Waldheim.

The Government of Saskatchewan provided $150,000 toward renovations and upgrades to washrooms at Horizon Centre to make them more accessible and safer.

“We are committed to working with our partners, like Christian Horizons, to continue to make inclusive and accessible communities throughout Saskatchewan,” Weekes said.  “Removing barriers is something that all communities can work to do.”

Christian Horizons supports more than 2,000 people across the country.  In Saskatchewan, they provide residential supports and day programming in Waldheim, Moose Jaw, Warman and Saskatoon.

“Christian Horizons would like to thank the Minister of Social Services Paul Merriman, for the $150,000 in funding to renovate the bathrooms,” Christian Horizons Executive Director Ann Gyurmanczi said.  “As an organization, Christian Horizons recognizes the dignity of people with disabilities and these funds promote dignity for people.  Special thanks to MLA Randy Weekes for taking the time today to share in our celebration.”
