Victim of Assault at Saskatoon Correctional Centre Dies in Hospital

Cornell HENRY, who was an inmate on remand at Saskatoon Correctional Centre when he was assaulted on October 23, 2017, died this morning at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

Two inmates on remand, Raven CONSTANT and Nathan ERMINE, were initially charged last week with aggravated assault in relation to this incident.  The file is now with Major Crimes at the Saskatoon Police Service.

As with any death in custody, the ministry has begun an internal investigation and the file has been referred to the Provincial Coroner’s office for their review.
