A public inquest into the death of Nadine Machiskinic has been scheduled for March 27-31, 2017 at the Queensbury Convention Centre at Evraz Place, Meeting Room 5, 1700 Elphinstone Street, Regina, Saskatchewan.Machiskinic, 29, was found unresponsive at the Delta Hotel. She was transported to hospital by ambulance and pronounced deceased several hours later.
Section 19 of The Coroners Act, 1999, states that the Chief Coroner may direct an inquest be held into the death of any person. The Office of the Chief Coroner is responsible for the investigation of all sudden, unexpected deaths. The purpose of an inquest is to establish who died, when and where that person died and the medical cause and manner of death. The coroner’s jury can also make recommendations to prevent further deaths.
Coroner Brent Gough, Q.C. of Saskatoon will preside at the inquest.
