Government Invests in Saskatchewan Community Airports

Released on June 7, 2017

The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $700,000 in the Community Airport Partnership (CAP) Program to enhance infrastructure to 15 community and regionally-owned airports.  CAP funding is available to qualifying airports that support economic development, accessibility and safety initiatives.

Grants are cost-shared on a 50/50 basis up to a maximum amount and are used to enhance infrastructure so that community and regionally-owned airports can continue to serve the growing province.

“Whether flying to work, a medical appointment or on a fishing trip, people rely on their community airport to help them reach their destination,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister David Marit said.  “We are pleased to continue to partner with communities across the province to upgrade and maintain their airport infrastructure.”
