Province Announces New Executive Director of Provincial Capital Commission

Released on July 31, 2017

The Government of Saskatchewan announced today Carrie Ross will lead the Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) as Executive Director.  Ross has been with the province since 2009 as the Executive Director of Government House.

“Ms. Ross is an excellent fit to lead the Provincial Capital Commission,” Minister responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Christine Tell said.  “She has been a trusted member of the PCC team for the last number of years, and her experience in the areas of tourism and culture will help us fully realize the vision for the Capital Commission, which is to promote and celebrate the capital city of Saskatchewan.”

PCC assumed responsibility for Wascana Centre in the spring.  Work is currently underway to transfer the operations and employees of the Wascana Centre Authority (WCA) to PCC.

Bernadette McIntyre will be retiring from her role as CEO of WCA effective August 1, 2017, a position she’s held for the last nine years.

“Bernadette has been a tireless advocate for Wascana Centre, and has dedicated the last nine years of her career to ensuring the urban park of our capital city is an oasis for families and visitors to our province,” Tell said.  “I want to thank Bernadette for her service and for her passion and dedication to Wascana Centre.”

PCC’s mandate is to preserve and promote the history and culture of Saskatchewan and to ensure that the capital city continues to remain a source of pride for the people of the province, and a source of interest to visitors.
