A Kelvington company pleaded guilty to occupational health and safety violations that resulted in the death of a worker.
101186505 Saskatchewan Ltd. pleaded guilty to contravening subsection 157(4) and section 158 of the regulations (being an employer, did fail to ensure that a worker, the operator of a unit of powered mobile equipment use a seat-belt or other restraining device, resulting in the death of a worker).
The company was fined $50,000 plus a $20,000 surcharge in Swift Current Provincial Court on August 22, 2017. One additional charge was stayed in court.
A worker suffered fatal injuries when the packer he was operating rolled over him at a worksite near Mankota.
