Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship Recipients Announced

Two students have been awarded $20,000 each in Queen Elizabeth II Scholarships for 2016-17.  Martin Boucher, a Ph.D candidate at the University of Saskatchewan's School of Environment and Sustainability is receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship.  His research focuses on climate change and the electricity sector.

Diane Adams, a Masters candidate at the University of Saskatchewan's School of Public Health is receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Centennial Aboriginal Scholarship.  Her research focuses on drinking water quality assessment thresholds.

"These scholarships are excellent ways to recognize and thank two high-quality students who are attending our universities," Advanced Education Minister Scott Moe said.  "The Queen Elizabeth II Scholarships are an opportunity for our students to show off their high-caliber research that has not only made them leaders in their respective fields, but enriches our province as a whole."

The Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship is awarded to a graduate and post-graduate student studying Saskatchewan politics and government at a Saskatchewan university.

The Queen Elizabeth II Centennial Aboriginal Scholarship is awarded to a First Nations or Métis student pursuing graduate and post-graduate studies in any field at a Saskatchewan university.  Each scholarship is awarded annually on the basis of academic excellence.

Students at both the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan are eligible for the award.
