Ministry of Education Tables Report on School Division Losses

The Ministry of Education has tabled two confirmed losses reported by school divisions with the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

This report is the second of its kind for Boards of Education and covers the 2014-15 school division fiscal year (September 1, 2014 – August 31, 2015) along with the first quarter of the 2015-16 school division fiscal year (September 1, 2015 – November 30, 2015).

The ministry, along with the Saskatchewan Association of School Business Officials has developed a policy for school divisions to report these types of instances quarterly in the future.  The policy requires school divisions to use reporting processes that are already being used by executive government, crown corporations and health regions.
