Funding To Prevent and Address Interpersonal Violence in Kindersley

Released on April 10, 2015

The Government of Saskatchewan continues to support a Kindersley program that assists victims of interpersonal violence and abuse.

“These kinds of community-based programs are an important piece of any effort to reduce interpersonal violence in this province,” Economy Minister and Kindersley MLA Bill Boyd said on behalf of Justice Minister and Attorney General Gordon Wyant.  “I’m proud that once again we’re able to offer that assistance to people in the Kindersley area should they need it.”

In 2015-16, West Central Crisis Family Support Centre will receive more than $157,000.

“We are encouraged by the financial support from the Ministry of Justice,” West Central Crisis and Family Support Centre Executive Director Michelle Weber said.  “This allows us to continue offering programs that support victims of violence and abuse as well as educate people about these damaging behaviours.”

Province-wide, the Ministry of Justice's Interpersonal Violence and Abuse Program is providing more than $11 million toward interpersonal violence programming this fiscal year.
