Province Releases Final Round of 2014 Highway Construction Tenders

Released on March 25, 2014

Another round of construction contracts for the upcoming 2014 construction season will start hitting the market soon.

“Investing in the infrastructure a growing province needs is an important component of the Saskatchewan Plan for Growth,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister Don McMorris said.  “The Spring Tender Release, combined with our previous tender releases, puts this year’s $664.5 million Highways budget into action.”

The Spring 2014 Tender Release includes about 73 km of highway upgrades, 123 km of repaving, and 68 bridge and culvert projects with an estimated value of $143.2 million.  Tenders for these projects will be advertised starting in April and continue over the coming months.

The Spring Tender Release builds on previous tender releases in November and December.  The three tender releases combined feature 181 km of highway upgrades, 280 km of repaving and 113 bridge and culvert projects.

Ministry tender plans are available at www.saskatchewan.ca/highwaystender.

The Government of Saskatchewan has invested a record $4.1 billion in transportation infrastructure since 2008.
