Premier Announces Public Service Excellence Award Recipients

The Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service for 2014 were announced today.

“We’re truly fortunate to have such outstanding, innovative and dedicated public servants,” Premier Brad Wall said.  “Congratulations to each and every one of you as you work each day to serve the citizens of this wonderful province.”

Saskatchewan public service employees are recognized in three award categories: Innovation, Quality Service and Leadership.

The individuals and team recipients for this year are:
  • Chris Smith, Domestic Meat Inspection, Ministry of Agriculture (Leadership)
  • Osman Rahman, Sale of Potash to Bangladesh, Executive Council (Innovation)
  • Education Sector Strategic Plan Team, Ministry of Education (Innovation)
  • Accounts Payable Centralization Team, Ministry of Finance (Innovation)
  • Building Partnerships to Reduce Crime Team, Ministry of Justice - Corrections and Policing (Innovation)
  • Red Tape Review: Liquor Regulatory Changes Team, Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (Leadership) 
Individuals or teams from provincial government ministries, some Treasury Board Crown corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and citizens.  An independent committee makes the selections.
