Government of Saskatchewan Recommends Audit of Conseil Des Écoles Fransaskoises

Released on June 12, 2014

Today, in response to concerns raised with Education Minister Don Morgan, the Government of Saskatchewan has requested that the Provincial Auditor review the financial practices of the Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF).

“Ensuring the financial stability of the CÉF is important to our government because it impacts Saskatchewan students,” Morgan said.  “While we have concerns about the CÉF’s financial position, I appreciate that they are taking this situation seriously, and have already been making important decisions and difficult changes to improve their financial situation.”

If accepted, the auditor will review the governance and financial management of the CÉF.  The ministry will continue to work with the CÉF to ensure they are able to manage their finances appropriately and operate within their annual budget.

The Government of Saskatchewan is committed to working with the CÉF to meet the needs of its students.
