Troy Miller, formerly operating as Avocado Fresh Mexican Grill in Saskatoon, pleaded guilty to three charges under The Labour Standards Act in Saskatoon Provincial Court on October 16.
Miller pleaded guilty to three counts of failure to pay wages within 14 days. He was fined $250 plus a victim surcharge of $60 on each count, for a total of $930 in fines. Four other charges were stayed in court.
Avocado Fresh Mexican Grill closed in March of 2013.
The Labour Standards Division of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety supports fair and equitable workplace practices through public awareness and enforcement of The Labour Standards Act and regulations as well as other labour legislation. Whenever necessary, violators will be prosecuted.
