RENOVATION COMPLETED FOR E.D. FEEHAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL

Released on November 15, 2013

Today Education Minister Don Morgan joined students, teachers, members of the community and representatives from the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division to celebrate the completion of the renovations at E.D. Feehan Catholic High School.  The total cost of the renovation was approximately $6.1 million.  The Government of Saskatchewan contributed approximately $4.4 million to the project.

“Investing in education infrastructure is key to providing a quality learning experience for Saskatchewan students,” Morgan said.  “The renovations E.D. Feehan has undergone will support student success and serve their students for years to come.”

The renovations, completed in September 2013, include the addition of a 45 space child care centre, upgrades to the computer lab, practical arts areas, the administration area and the sprinkler system, new student common areas and an upgrade and relocation of the library.

“E. D. Feehan Catholic High School is one of our division’s most historic schools,” Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools Board of Education Chair Diane Boyko said.  “When it opened in 1967, it was our first high school.  There are many memories here and new ones are being created each day.  We are grateful that we have been able to renovate and renew this facility for today’s students, the newest members of the Feehan Family.”

Since November 2007, the Government of Saskatchewan has committed approximately $600 million toward school infrastructure including 43 major capital projects.
