SASKATOON PUB FOUND GUILTY OF LABOUR STANDARDS VIOLATION

Dublin’s Irish Pub Ltd. of Saskatoon has been found guilty of one charge under Saskatchewan’s Labour Standards Act for failing to provide records.  The corporation was fined $560 in Saskatoon Provincial Court on May 16.

The charge was laid after the company failed to respond to a request from a Labour Standards Officer to provide payroll records.  Charges against two directors of the business were stayed.

The Labour Standards Division of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety supports fair and equitable workplace practices through public awareness and enforcement of The Labour Standards Act and regulations as well as other labour legislation.  Whenever necessary, violators will be prosecuted.
