GOVERNMENT OF SASKATCHEWAN CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK

Today, the Government of Saskatchewan joins over 100 countries around the world to celebrate International Education Week (IEW).

"International education is a critical component of the Government of Saskatchewan's immigration strategy," Advanced Education, Employment and Immigration Minister Rob Norris said. "With our growing economy, Saskatchewan continues to be poised to attract the best and brightest from around the world to our internationally-recognized educational institutions."

"International education is part of the foundation that will ensure the continued prosperity of our province as we continue our leadership role in the global knowledge economy," Norris said.

In the last five years, the number of international students who choose to study in Saskatchewan has increased by nearly 25 per cent. Currently, there are more than 4,300 international students enrolled in primary, secondary and post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan.
