INDUSTRY INFORMATION SESSIONS ON OIL AND GAS BUSINESS SYSTEMS REDESIGN

Released on July 5, 2010

The Ministry of Energy and Resources is holding two information sessions with stakeholders in the province's oil and gas industry on the redevelopment of the government's oil and gas business process and computer systems.

The Process Renewal and Infrastructure Management Enhancements, or PRIME, project is replacing the well information, production and disposition, and billing systems with one integrated system.

An important component of PRIME is Saskatchewan's involvement in the Petroleum Registry of Alberta. The registry allows industry to record petroleum and natural gas data into a web-enabled, interactive database - a system widely accepted by the oil and gas industry and one that is key to maintaining Saskatchewan's future competitiveness.

Information sessions will be held in Estevan (Wednesday, July 7, 2010, from 2-4 p.m., in the Taylorton Room at the Days Inn) and in Regina (Thursday, July 8, 2010, from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, in the Verdi Room at the Delta Regina Hotel).

The sessions will provide companies with an overview of the PRIME project and, more specifically, information on Saskatchewan's participation in the registry and what that will mean to them in delivering information to the ministry in the future.
