CALVERT REJUVENATES CABINET

Released on October 12, 2001

Premier Lorne Calvert set a new course for government today, announcing a

rejuvenated cabinet team.



"Fresh ideas - a new way of thinking - this is the cabinet we have put in

place," Calvert said. "It's an exciting mix of enthusiasm, held steady by

the wisdom gained through experience and knowledge. Our team builds on a

precedent I set last year - bringing new faces to the cabinet table.



"What we will strive to achieve in the coming months is leadership that

will motivate, define values, offer vision and creatively produce reform in

the face of unusual opportunities and challenges."



The new cabinet is comprised of:
