DON NARCISSE LAUNCHES SASKENERGY CATCH FOR KIDS FUND

Released on June 24, 1998

Deputy Premier and Crown Investments Corporation Minister Dwain

Lingenfelter and Saskatchewan Roughrider Don Narcisse today announced

the launch of the SaskEnergy Catch for Kids fund, designed to help

underprivileged and less fortunate children across the province.

For every regular season and playoff catch made by Narcisse,

SaskEnergy will donate $100 to help support children across

Saskatchewan the 1998 beneficiary of the program will be KidSport

Saskatchewan. To kick off the SaskEnergy Catch for Kids program, the

minister and SaskEnergy President and Chief Executive Officer Ron

Clark presented a cheque for $1,500 to KidSport Saskatchewan under the

name of Don Narcisse.

"My focus has always been on the kids, inspiring them to achieve what

they want from life and be all that they can be," Narcisse said. "I'm

hoping that with SaskEnergy's Catch for Kids, we can help tomorrow's

young people reach their dreams as much as the Saskatchewan people and

the Saskatchewan Roughriders have helped me reach mine."

Lingenfelter said that Narcisse has increasingly taken a lead role

among the players in doing community work.

"He's been taking an inspirational message to young people,

telling them about the value of staying in school, pursuing your

dreams and believing in yourself," Lingenfelter said. "Don is

now issuing a challenge to all Saskatchewan businesses and people

to help underprivileged children through the SaskEnergy Catch For

Kids program."

Clark said the corporation will be providing both financial and

organizational support to the SaskEnergy Catch for Kids and has

helped bring other partners on board to promote the program.

As part of the SaskEnergy Catch for Kids program, Narcisse will

also be hosting a group of young people at each of the nine

Roughrider regular season home games this season.

"Don's made a real commitment to make this program work," Clark

said. "We now encourage the media and the public to share Don's

message and support for Saskatchewan's young people."
