PREMIER PARTICIPATES IN SHUTTLE CRAFT GRAND OPENING

Released on February 26, 1996

Premier Roy Romanow and Economic Development Minister Dwain Lingenfelter
today participated in the official opening of the Shuttle Craft
International, Inc. plant in Saskatoon.

"Shuttle Craft has grown into a major operation with $2 million in sales
in just three years," Romanow said. "This is an excellent example of the
kind of entrepreneurial spirit which is growing in our province."

The Shuttle Craft is a fibreglass boat designed to be propelled by a
personal watercraft, the small, single-rider, jet boats which have become
increasingly popular in recent years. The personal watercraft docks into
a slot in the Shuttle Craft and is then used to power and steer it.
Shuttle Craft can transport up to five passengers and their gear.

Saskatchewan Opportunities Corporation has provided a $500,000 loan to
Shuttle Craft to facilitate contract financing for the manufacture of
units the company has already sold.

Shuttle Craft is an initiative of three young Saskatchewan entrepreneurs,
Dan Beaulac, Wayne Washington and Trevor Hewison. From its initial
prototype development in a family garage, the company has progressed from
a small operation in Prince Albert to its present 34,000 square foot
facility in Saskatoon. Shuttle Craft currently employs 85 people, and
anticipates its workforce will reach 100 by the end of this year.

"Shuttle Craft is exactly the type of development we had in mind last
week when we announced the second phase of our government's economic
development strategy, Partnership for Growth," Dwain Lingenfelter,
minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Opportunities Corporation said.

"Partnership for Growth includes elements designed to strengthen small
business, and educate young people about the option of going into
business for themselves", Lingenfelter said. "This innovative company
involved in manufacturing and export, owned and operated by young
entrepreneurs, is a fine example of opportunities available in
Saskatchewan."
