Living Skies Housing Authority

Living Skies Housing Authority (LSHA) was established on September 1, 2006, to support the network of housing authorities in Saskatchewan. As an agent of Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC), LSHA provides operating supports and services to housing authorities. LSHA is governed by a board of directors appointed by the Minister responsible for SHC.

In collaboration with our stakeholders, Living Skies Housing Authority strives to be a high-performing workplace of choice, promoting a culture of service, professional conduct, respect and safety.

Structure

LSHA has three branches:

  • Regional Housing Operations (RHO) supports operations and monitors compliance for Saskatchewan housing authorities, following SHC policies, standards and business practices. Specifically, RHO provides the following services to housing authorities on SHC's behalf:
    • Board governance advice
    • Property management guidance
    • Tenant relations assistance
    • Financial management and accounting
    • Operational review and community analysis
    • Orientation and skills training
  • Housing Technical Operations (HTO) establishes architectural, construction, rejuvenation, safety and maintenance standards for SHC-owned properties. HTO also provides guidance on building codes, scopes of work, tendering and procurement.
  • Business Support Operations provides financial reporting and accounting services for housing authorities and is responsible for:
    • Accounting
    • Payroll processing
    • Business system support functions
    • Budget planning and co-ordination
