Road-Use Charge on Electric Vehicles

Effective October 1, 2021, a $150 annual charge has been introduced for owners of Class LV electric vehicles registered in Saskatchewan.

This $150 road-use charge will be collected by Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) at the time of registration. In the event of a shortened registration period, SGI will prorate this charge or provide refunds as required.

The charge is used to help maintain the province's roads and highways.
