3. Parent Fee Reduction Grant

The parent fee reduction grant has been established to reduce child care fees paid by parents, making life more affordable for Saskatchewan families.

Effective April 1, 2023, all parents with children under the age of six in a regulated child care centre or home are eligible to receive child care for $10 per day or $217.50 per month. These reduced fees apply to all children under the age of six occupying an infant, toddler, preschool or school-age space.

The parent fee reduction grant amount per space will vary based on the approved fee for each age category (e.g. infant, toddler or preschool) and the occupancy of each space (e.g. full-time, daily). The monthly parent fee reduction grant for each utilized space is calculated as the difference between the approved fee and the reduced parent portion of the fee .

  • Full-time monthly grant amount = approved full-time fee less the parent portion of $217.50
  • Daily grant amount = approved daily fee less the parent portion of $10.00
