1. Guidance

The Gas Commercialization Mapping (GCM) Service highlights potential areas where gas volumes are available that could lead to further gas commercialization, including a table of licensees to contact and initiate discussions towards contracting flared or vented gas towards a potential project.

The produced map and table includes vented and flared gas volumes within a single geographic area, for a static instance of 12 months within a radius of 5, 10 and 15 km.

The GCM Service may be requested no more than twice a year per geographic area due to the seasonal production nature of the vented and flared gas volumes.

2. Eligibility

The GCM Service may be requested twice a year per 5-digit Saskatchewan Business Associate for each geographic area. A fee may be charged as per Directive PNG030: Fees for Data and Related Services. The requests will be completed within 15 business days.

Business Associate (BA): Any entity that conducts business activities with the Ministry of Energy and Resources is referred to as a BA.

Business Associate Identification Code (BA ID): Every BA must have an active BA ID, which is a five-character numeric identification code. BAs apply to the Government of Saskatchewan for a BA ID through Petrinex.

Petrinex: Petrinex is the system the oil and gas industry uses to submit volumetric, valuation, royalty taxpayer and certain infrastructure information to the Government of Saskatchewan. The government also uses Petrinex to administer its BA ID codes.
