Irrigation Program

Irrigation Programs

Irrigation programming supports sustainable agriculture water management and adaptation to climate change by providing funding support for:

  • Development of new irrigation acres; and
  • Improved efficiencies in irrigation systems.

Irrigation Development Program: This pre-approval program supports infrastructure development to create a secure water supply to irrigable land parcels and increase irrigation capacity by a minimum of 10 acres. The Ministry of Agriculture’s Crops and Irrigation Branch can assist you with the steps involved in the irrigation development process. Please contact 306-867-5500 for more information.

Irrigation Efficiency Program: This rebate program supports improved energy and water efficiencies for producers by converting low-efficiency or high-pressure irrigation systems to high-efficiency, low-pressure irrigation systems.
