Rancher’s University Hits Saskatoon Dec. 6-7, 2024

Have you been wanting to learn about beef cattle nutrition, replacement heifer selection, pest management in forages or any other topics regarding beef cattle?
Do you want to learn more about different funding opportunities and new products being tested for livestock?
We have the perfect event for you - Rancher’s University is coming to Saskatoon this December.
This two-day event will be held on December 6 and 7, 2024, in Saskatoon and Clavet, providing producers with the opportunity to connect with other ranchers, professors, veterinarians and industry professionals.
Registration is $140 to attend both days or $80 for a single day registration. Lunch is provided on both days for those registered. The program will begin Friday, December 6 at 10 a.m. in Saskatoon at the Staybridge Inn & Suites. The morning session will include presentations on Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership funding opportunities as well as demonstration project updates. Dr. Hayes Goosey from Montana State University will present on managing forage in drought conditions in the afternoon and there will be a crash course presented by ministry staff on the beef cattle nutrition and how to use the CowBytes program to build rations for your herd.
The second day will take place at Clavet Community Hall and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. There will be many informative presentations and discussions from professionals from Montana State University, the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Merck Animal Health throughout the day on topics ranging from beef cattle abortions to low-stress cattle handling. The day’s activities will take participants to the Livestock and Forage Centre of Excellence to see some demonstrations.
Accommodation for Friday night can be booked at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Saskatoon East-University and can be pre-booked with code RUA before November 8, 2024. Registration deadline for Rancher’s University is November 20, 2024, please register online.
