Social Services
The Ministry of Social Services supports vulnerable people and families as they build a better quality of life.
We help people with their immediate needs and provide supports for: families to safely care for their children, children and youth in care to be successful, people with disabilities to access community-based services, access to affordable housing, and income assistance to meet people’s basic needs as they work to become self-sufficient to the best of their abilities.
Together with Indigenous and community partners, we work to make a positive difference in the lives of our clients every day.

Plan for 2024-25
The plan for 2024-25 reflects the government's goals of sustaining growth and opportunities for Saskatchewan people, meeting the challenges of growth, securing a better quality of life for all Saskatchewan people and delivering responsive and responsible government.

Annual Reports
The Ministry of Social Services' 2022-23 Annual Report presents the ministry's activities and results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023. It reports to the public and elected officials on public commitments made and other key accomplishments of the ministry.

Adoption Services
Find information on the programs and services we offer to assist with domestic adoption, assisted adoption, inter-country adoption and post-adoption.
Child Protection
Have reason to believe a child is being abused? You are required by law to report suspected cases of neglect or abuse. Learn how to report information.
Community Living Service Delivery
Ensure physical, emotional and social needs are met, and that people with intellectual disabilities live and function as independently as possible within their own communities.
Financial Assistance Programs
Apply for available programs, such as Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS), that help low-income families in Saskatchewan.
Foster Care
Learn about foster care and consider becoming a foster parent – complete the recruitment form and submit it online.
Housing
Find out about funding for social housing, affordable home rentals, repairs, energy retrofit programs or homeownership options.
Services to People with Disabilities
Learn about assured income for people with significant and long-term disabilities or financial assistance for housing modifications to accommodate the needs of a person with a disability.
Services to Seniors
Apply for financial assistance if you live in a personal care home or supplement your income with the Seniors Income Plan.
Services to Youth
Are you a 16- or 17-year-old in need of assistance? The Ministry of Social Services can provide assistance if you cannot return to live with your family for reasons of safety or due to other extenuating circumstances.
